Website design for Sapphire Hotel in Prizren's old town

We designed and built sapphirehotelks.com for Sapphire Hotel, eighteen rooms on Marin Barleti street, a few steps from the Shadërvan and the Stone Bridge. Two doors open on a gold diamond as the site loads, the header folds away as you read, every room type has its own page, the site speaks English and Albanian, and every Book button opens the hotel's own booking page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Sapphire Hotel website built with?

Next.js and React in TypeScript, styled with Tailwind CSS. All the motion, the doors, the folding header, the drifting gallery and the page change, is plain CSS with a small scroll observer, and Lenis smooths the scroll, so no animation library has to download.

What happens when the Sapphire Hotel site opens?

On the first load two charcoal doors cover the screen with a gold diamond split across their seam. The diamond grows, the doors slide apart onto the hotel's front at night, and the headline rises word by word out of a blur. Moving between pages afterwards brings four charcoal panels instead of the doors.

How do guests book a room?

Every Book button, in the header, the hero, the booking band, each room's page and the footer, opens the hotel's booking page on thelobbyboy, the hotel system from Prishtina, in a new tab. The guest picks dates and a room there, and the booking goes straight to the hotel.

What does each room page show?

Sapphire has five room types, Double, Deluxe Double, Twin, Triple and the Suite, and each has its own page with its photos, its size, how many guests it sleeps, how many rooms of that kind the hotel has and the way to book it. Search engines read each one as a hotel room in its own right.

Is a hotel website with this much motion fast on a phone?

Yes. Every public page is prepared ahead of time, the photos are cut before the build into the three sizes phones and screens ask for, and the motion is CSS rather than a script library. On a device set to reduce motion the animations are cut to almost nothing.

Can you build a website like this for my hotel?

Yes. We design and build hotel websites from scratch, with a page for every room, the languages your guests speak and direct booking.
