The website we built for Cakes by Vjollca

Cakes by Vjollca is a custom cake studio in Prishtina. There is no fixed menu: every cake is designed for its occasion, whether a wedding, an engagement (fejesa), a birthday, a graduation or a company event.

So the finished cakes are what sells the next one. The site had to show them the way a magazine would, large and one at a time, and make the step from “I like that one” to an order as short as it can be.

The gallery holds 80 cakes in seven categories: wedding, engagement, birthday, kids, heart cakes, graduation and celebrations. It filters by occasion, and every cake opens its own page in English and Albanian, 160 pages in all.

Each cake page describes the design in a few lines, says it was made to order in the Prishtina studio, and ends in two buttons: one to ask about this design and one straight to WhatsApp. Links to its category, its occasion and more designs keep the visitor browsing.

The photos are the studio's own cakes. New designs are added from its photos, and each one gets its page in both languages and its place in the sitemap.

Every page carries an Order Now button, and every path ends in the same place: a WhatsApp conversation with the studio. The order form asks for a name, an email and a message, then opens WhatsApp with all of it written out to the studio's number.

That fits how a custom cake is ordered. The date, the size and the design are settled in a conversation, so the site's job is to start that conversation with the details already in it. The studio answers in the app it already uses, and can send any customer the link to one exact design.

Each occasion has its own page: wedding, birthday, engagement, graduation and corporate cakes, plus cupcakes and treats. Around them sit the practical pages: a guide to cake sizes and servings, an Albanian-English cake glossary, delivery and pickup, why customers choose the studio, and a FAQ.

A blog of 14 articles in each language takes on the questions people search before they order, from how far ahead to book to how to carry a cake home.

The site runs in English and Albanian, page for page. A visitor whose browser prefers Albanian lands on the Albanian site automatically, while search engines keep seeing both versions, each marked as the other's translation.

For relatives abroad ordering a cake for family in Kosovo, the site has its own page on ordering from abroad: the design is agreed on WhatsApp, payment is by bank transfer or at pickup, and the family collects the cake in Prishtina. Three German pages carry the same path to the diaspora in German-speaking countries.

Next.js 15 and React 19 in TypeScript, with Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion. The homepage opens on short cake videos, laid out as a collage on a computer and as a carousel on a phone. Each one plays only while it is on screen, and falls back to a second format or a still image when a device cannot play it.

For search engines and AI assistants the site describes the studio as a bakery in structured data, lists its occasions, marks up its videos and its FAQ, and publishes a sitemap that pairs every page with its Albanian twin. The homepage text is in the page itself, readable without running scripts, an llms.txt file sums up the studio, and robots.txt lets AI crawlers in.

The site was built from September 2025, with the gallery pages and the German pages added in July 2026.
